French peg solitaire solution
Start with c1 empty. Make 35 jumps and the last marble lands on e1. This is one verified route, so use it to check your own idea, or to see how an old puzzle is finished.
How to read it
Every jump is written as two holes, like e1 → c1: the marble that moves, then the empty hole it lands on. The marble it jumps over is removed. Every hole shows its name on the board, and the next jump glows. Click any number to see the position after that jump, or use ← / → to step and Space to play.
The route in brief
- Jump 1: e1 → c1. Replay from the start
- By jump 27 the left arm is empty. Show it
- By jump 29 the right arm is empty. Show it
- By jump 32 the bottom arm is empty. Show it
- Before the last jump only e2 and e3 are left. Then e3 → e1 ends on e1. Show the last jump
Where players go wrong
These jumps look natural, and each one leaves a position that can no longer reach e1.
